“Quickly, bring me a beaker of wine, so that I may wet my mind and say something clever.” Aristophanes

Have you been to wine tasting and found it pretentious and pompous? I have as well and found it intimidating because of the vocabulary and the all the things you are supposed to know. Thankfully there is a fantastic site from a store owner in New Jersey. I had heard an interview with Gary Vaynerchuk and was struck by the simplicity of his interpretations of wines. He made it sound like anyone doing a tasting should use the words that are more familiar and more descriptive than the stereotypical tasting phrases. Now onto the site. It is called Wine Library TV and it is set of videos featuring the owner talking about wine. He discusses everything from the taste to prices. The videos that I have seen have been interesting and you can tell this guy not only knows his wines but he is passionate about the whole industry but he speaks plainly about it all. Also there are forums and lists that you can download so that you have no trouble finding the wines discussed. To get an understanding of the site try the video titled How to get your wine palate trained. Give it a try.
